Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 14th, 2026

The Agreement Between Us

These Terms of Service set out the understanding between you and SolveHog whenever you install our browser extension, visit our website, or make use of anything we offer (together, the "Services"). We have written them so that both sides know what to expect. Please read the whole document carefully, because installing or continuing to use the Services is how you tell us that you accept everything described here. If any part of this agreement is something you are unwilling to accept, the right course is simply to stop using the Services.

We may adjust these terms from time to time as SolveHog grows or as the way we operate changes. When we do, the revised version takes effect once it appears on this page, and the "Last Updated" line above will always tell you when the most recent revision happened. We encourage you to look back here occasionally, since your continued use after a change means you are comfortable with the updated wording. If you are not yet old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, you should only use the Services with the involvement of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.

What SolveHog Actually Does

SolveHog is a browser extension built for learners working through self-paced college courses on Sophia Learning. Once installed, it reads the Milestone or Challenge you have open in your browser and surfaces suggested answers and worked explanations directly on the page, so you can move through your coursework with less friction. Everything happens on the device you are already using; the extension is a companion that sits alongside your studies rather than a shortcut that removes the need to study.

We think of SolveHog as a study aid, not a stand-in for your own effort. Its suggestions are there to help you check your reasoning, understand a topic you are stuck on, and keep momentum through a long self-paced course. They are not meant to replace reading the material, thinking a problem through, or engaging honestly with your program. Used that way, the extension supports genuine learning; used as a substitute for it, the tool cannot do the work of understanding for you.

Using the Services Responsibly

When you use SolveHog you agree to do so lawfully and honestly. That means treating the answer suggestions as a learning reference, keeping within the rules of whatever school or program you are enrolled in, and never turning the extension toward fraud, cheating, or anything that would give you an unfair edge over other students. You remain the person responsible for how the Services are applied to your coursework and for making sure that use lines up with your institution's own policies.

We take academic honesty seriously and we ask you to as well. Where a school treats outside assistance as misconduct, the consequences can be significant, ranging from a failed assessment to the loss of credit or removal from a program, along with the lasting effect that can have on an academic record. Those outcomes flow from choices about how a tool is used, and they rest with the person who made them. SolveHog is offered so that you can study more effectively and with more confidence, and we trust you to keep it pointed in that direction.

Independence From Sophia Learning and Others

SolveHog is an independent product. We are not part of, connected to, endorsed by, or sponsored by Sophia Learning, any college or university, any publisher, or any other learning platform. Where the names, logos, or marks of those organizations appear, they belong to their respective owners and we refer to them only so that you understand what our extension is compatible with. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting a partnership or official relationship where none exists. SolveHog is developed and maintained entirely by our own team, and it works on its own without plugging into or altering the systems of any outside service.

No Guarantees About How It Performs

The Services are provided to you "as is" and "as available," which is our way of saying that we offer them in good faith but without promises about flawless performance. We do not warrant that the answer suggestions will always be correct, that the extension will run without interruption, that it will remain compatible with every course or assessment format, or that using it will produce any particular result in your studies. Software behaves differently across browsers, devices, and the platforms it interacts with, and Sophia Learning may change in ways we cannot anticipate. You accept that the tool may not fit every situation and that any reliance you place on it is a judgment you are making for yourself.

Payments, Subscriptions, and Refunds

Access to SolveHog is sold as a subscription for a set length of time, and the plans and prices available to you are shown at the point of purchase. Because the Services become available to you immediately, every payment is final and we do not issue refunds once a subscription has been bought. A subscription covers only the period stated when you buy it, cannot be traded or transferred, and ends when that period runs out. Keeping track of when your access lapses and renewing before it does is up to you, and we are not able to extend or reinstate a plan that has already expired.

You are also responsible for looking after the account you use to reach the Services. Please keep your login details private, since we cannot replace or refund access on an account that has been left exposed or shared. Treating your credentials with care keeps your subscription yours.

Limits on Our Responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, SolveHog and the people who build it are not liable for losses or damages that arise from using the Services, from being unable to use them, or from relying on anything they produce. That covers direct problems such as errors or interruptions in the software; indirect effects such as lost time or unexpected technical conflicts; and knock-on consequences such as missed academic opportunities, invalidated credit, lost data or saved progress, or harm to your standing. It also covers any penalty or disciplinary action a school might impose in connection with your use of the tool. Things outside our control, including changes to Sophia Learning, shifts in institutional policy, or network problems, can affect how the extension performs, and we cannot be answerable for those either. By using the Services you accept that you do so at your own risk and that this outcome is one you are choosing to take on.

Acknowledgment and Contact

By continuing to use SolveHog you confirm that you have read these terms, that you understand them, and that you accept responsibility for how you use the Services, including keeping to the laws and academic rules that apply to you. You also confirm that your use will not put you in conflict with any agreement or policy set by your school, and that you will keep the extension pointed at honest, productive study. If any of this is something you cannot agree to, please stop using the Services.
